With artificial intelligence increasingly becoming part of daily life, more and more job seekers are using AI tools in their job search journeys.

Trisha Chapman, founder of impressivecv, says large language models can help job seekers craft resumes, cover letters and practice for interviews.

Providing the chatbot with your work history will allow it to generate a resume. Same for a cover letter – if it is provided with your experience and the job description, she says.

It “can save you time and effort, allowing you to focus on other aspect of your job search,” Chapman adds.

According to ResumeBuilder.com, 46% of the 1,000 job seekers surveyed in February said they are using ChatGPT to write their resumes and/or cover letters.

Nearly 60% said they were hired after applying to a job using ChatGPT-written material. However, 11% said they were rejected after employers learned they used the chatbot.
